Goingreen new Managing Director Appointed

GOINGREEN APPOINTS RUDI SCHOGGER AS MANAGING DIRECTOR

GoinGreen, the company behind the success of the REVA G-Wiz in the UK, has appointed Rudi Schogger as its new managing director. His arrival at GoinGreen is timely, as the role of electric vehicles (EVs) in the UK is about to get a lot more significant. As pioneers in this field, Rudi Schogger is looking forward to guiding GoinGreen through the next stages of the company's growth, as the EV market develops.

Rudi Schogger brings to GoinGreen a vibrant approach and a raft of new ideas. His background as a serial entrepreneur has seen him involved in the original concept and development of what became Union Market, which opened in Fulham last week. He also recently founded the first dedicated private allotment company in the UK, The New Allotment Company.

"We have big plans here at GoinGreen. We may be the small guys, but we were the first to prove that electric vehicles were viable for city driving, making the G-Wiz a London icon in the process, and we now have over 1,000 G-Wiz on the roads. We are looking at all aspects of the business, from improving our customer service further, through to launching new products. Our plan is to revitalise the G-Wiz brand and remind everyone of the sheer joy of driving this special electric vehicle." Says Rudi Schogger.

GoinGreen, founded seven years ago, introduced the 2+2 seat G-Wiz to London in May 2004. The G-Wiz is great for commuting to work, for the school run, or as part of a small fleet. It can be charged up at home or at one of the burgeoning recharging points around London, or indeed, the UK and costs as little as 2p a mile to run (depending on tariff). It is exempt from the London Congestion Charge and road tax (VED), is in Insurance Group 1 (the lowest) and benefits from parking and recharging incentives in many boroughs. The basic model is £9,995.

The G-Wiz is zero emissions if charged using energy from a renewable source and produces 63gms per km if recharged using electricity from a conventional source. Customers can book test drives online and the company has a team of engineers based at its Southall headquarters for full after-sales maintenance and, for time-poor customers, it also offers mobile servicing at the customer's home or office.

The G-Wiz is manufactured by Mahindra REVA, which has accumulated over 100 million kms of user data on the G-Wiz.

Further information on the G-Wiz and its benefits can be found on GoinGreen's website www.goingreen.co.uk
